EVAW

Ending Violence Against Women Project

The EVAW Project is a successful training and technical assistance STOP VAWA funded initiative in Colorado.  The project includes two full-time employees and approximately 25 expert trainers from across the state.  The project provides excellent training and technical assistance to Colorado communities and has conducted training in each of the 22 Judicial Districts in Colorado as well as many places across the county.   Additionally, the project provides technical assistance to prosecutors, law enforcement officers and victim advocates; assists coordinated community councils; and fosters and trains other multi-disciplinary training teams around the state.

The cornerstone of success of the EVAW Project has been collaboration.  The joint effort by the Colorado Coalition Against Domestic Violence, the Colorado District Attorney’s Council, the County Sheriff’s of Colorado, and the Colorado Coalition Against Sexual Assault has infused the project with credibility, and modeled the importance of unity on the issues of violence against women to the communities the EVAW team has worked with.
