Hi my name is Katy and I am hoping to start a survivor’s run group at MESA. I was never athletic as a young person, but a few years ago I discovered the power of exercise. Running and other out door activities have helped me heal from traumas in my youth–providing me with a deep sense of competency and calm. I want to share my love of running with you. I work in the teaching profession, live in Boulder, and have a cattle dog who also loves to run.
Running and other outdoor activities help connecting the person to their bodies, as well as increase the sense of competency and calm. There will be short a time at the end of each group to talk about body image, health and trauma in the body while stretching!
