Freedom from Sexual Violence

Event: Survivor’s Running Group

Sep

MESA Running Group Pic

From the facilitator:

Hi my name is Katy and I am hoping to start a survivor’s run group at MESA. I was never athletic as a young person, but a few years ago I discovered the power of exercise. Running and other out door activities have helped me heal from traumas in my youth–providing me with a deep sense of competency and calm. I want to share my love of running with you. I work in the teaching profession, live in Boulder, and have a cattle dog who also loves to run.

The purpose:

Running and other outdoor activities help connecting the person to their bodies, as well as increase the sense of competency and calm. There will be short a time at the end of each group to talk about body image, health and trauma in the body while stretching!

Location:

Boulder trails (more information, call the office)

Dates and time:

Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 6:30 to 7:30am

Email laia@movingtoendsexualassault.org ASAP if you’re interested.
