Attendees will learn about the critical stages of an offender’s incarceration while in prison, in a half-way house, and on parole. Topics covered include the reality of sentence computation and how soon an offender may actually return to the community; Good Time versus Earned Time; eligibility for Community Corrections and Parole; Protection Orders and the DOC policy prohibiting contact between victims and offenders. Additionally, victim-centered programs such as the Offender Apology Letter Bank, Victim Impact Panels, and the Victim Offender Dialogue Program will be presented.
