A Texas company thought it would be a great promotional tactic to create a decal that looks like a woman who has been tied up and tossed in the back of a pickup.
The technology conference, TechCrunch Disrupt, included a “fake” presentation which featured an app meant to objectify women, one called TitStare (in which a person takes pictures of themselves looking at breasts, and then uploads it).
A Dallas crime watch volunteer is linked, through DNA, to at least four different rapes. He was arrested Tuesday in Baton Rouge, LA.
Duke University has put new sexual assault guidelines in place – but refuses to answer questions about how these guidelines will work in practice.
Even though the Prison Rape Elimination Act was signed into law ten years ago this month, prison rape still occurs in alarmingly high numbers – some 80,000 prisoners reported sexual assault between February 2011 and May 2012. This is about four percent of prison inmates, and over three percent of jail inmates.
The Associated Press didn’t want to include partner rape as rape.
