Victim Witness Assistant (Crime Victim Compensation)

Under general supervision, performs data entry and clerical work in the provision of services of the Crime Victim Compensation Program in the Victim Witness Unit.

The salary range for this position is $39,226-$58,039, and the hiring range is $39,226-$49,032.

 Essential Duties:
Work involves a variety of complex, specialized clerical work specific to the Crime Victim Compensation process, including claim entry; producing, maintaining and filing correspondence; summarizing police reports and other duties specific to board meeting preparation; providing technical specialized information to the public, victim advocates and to victim service providers; processing payments; making appropriate referrals to other victim service agencies and providing support and guidance to victims throughout the Crime Victim Compensation process.
 Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in business, criminal justice, social science, human services or related field and minimum one year related work experience – OR – an equivalent combination of related experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Offer of employment contingent on criminal background, MVR check and education verification.

 Additional Information:
Must possess valid driver’s license, requires valid Colorado driver’s license within thirty days hire date; in order to be approved, you must have no more than three violations, no major violations and no suspension for moving violations in the past three years.
