By being a part of CCASA, members have a voice in shaping public policy in Colorado. CCASA works with a lobbyist who keeps us informed of legislative efforts and actions that members can take. We testify on bills, educating lawmakers on the Coalition’s perspective and the reality of sexual violence in Colorado. Members are welcome to join our Public Policy Committee that meets regularly and communicates online via an e-group.
Members of CCASA have an influence in the movement to eliminate sexual violence in Colorado. As the statewide collective voice of sexual assault survivors and those who support and serve them, CCASA is at the forefront of the anti-rape movement in our state. CCASA is not an independent entity, however. It is a Coalition whose direction is shaped by the needs and input of its membership. Members have voting privileges at Coalition meetings. Members are also encouraged to forward region priorities to their Region Representative, who is involved in the CCASA strategic planning process and charged with the responsibility of representing region issues at CCASA meetings.
