Sexual Assault Services

This category includes both stand-alone sexual assault service agencies as well as dual sexual assault and domestic violence service agencies that may be community-based, campus-based, military or systems-based (based in a law enforcement or prosecutor’s office).

Child Advocacy Center

These agencies provide specialized care for children and adolescents.

Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Program Services

SANE Programs exist across the state and are comprised of medical professionals specially trained and certified to provide medical care and forensic evidence collection to victims of sexual assault.

Medical-Forensic Exam Services (non-SANE Program)

Some medical professionals in communities across the state are trained to provide care for victims of sexual assault, but may not have completed training that meets the requirements for SANE certification.

Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN)

RAINN created and operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline. This nationwide partnership of more than 1,100 local rape treatment hotlines provides victims of sexual assault with free, confidential services around the clock. National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC)

The National Sexual Violence Resource Center serves as the nation’s principle information and resource center regarding all aspects of sexual violence. It provides national leadership, consultation and technical assistance by generating and facilitating the development and flow of information on sexual violence intervention and prevention strategies. The NSVRC works to address the causes and impact of sexual violence through collaboration, prevention efforts and the distribution of resources. www.nsvrc.org

“1 is 2 Many” Initiative

In response to these alarming statistics, Vice President Biden is focusing his longstanding commitment to reducing violence against women specifically on teens and young women ages 16-24.
