Thirty Years of Connecting Communities

Sexual Assault Awareness Month

Each year, the montsaamh of April is designated Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) in the United States. The goal of SAAM is to raise public awareness about sexual violence and to educate communities and individuals on how to prevent sexual violence.  Each year CCASA’s Sexual Assault Awareness Month Planning Committee convenes from October through May to coordinate resources and events across Colorado. View the SAAM Fact Sheet for more info and to outreach to your community!

2014 Colorado SAAM Theme

The 2014 SAAM Committee is currently meeting and working to develop the SAAM initiatives for this year.  CCASA is pleased to announce that we will continue to promote the statewide SAAM theme,

“Let’s talk about it! Colorado Communities Coming Together.”

The Colorado theme was designed to recognize the need for communities to come together in order to end sexual violence in Colorado.  2014 also marks CCASA’s 30th anniversary of connecting Colorado communities with our mission to promote safety, justice and healing for survivors while working toward the elimination of sexual violence.
