Erin Jemison, MPA

Erin Jemison has over ten years of experience working with survivors of sexual and domestic violence, including developing sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking prevention programming. Erin has provided training at state and national conferences regarding sexual assault dynamics and advocacy, coordinated community response, rape culture, and prevention of sexual violence on college campuses. She is also a member of Colorado’s Sex Offender Management Board. Erin has a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and a Master’s in Public Administration. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Joel, and their dog, Kaya.
Karen Moldovan, MAT

Karen Moldovan is the Program Manager for the Colorado Coalition Against Sexual Assault (CCASA). She joined CCASA with strong experience in advocacy, education, community organizing and international development. Her professional experience has often focused on working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, individuals experiencing homelessness, and pregnant and parenting youth. Karen has a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Gender Studies, and a Masters of Arts in Teaching. In 2009, she completed service as a United States Peace Corps Volunteer in the Kingdom of Tonga. She is a founding member of First Response Action, which advocates for comprehensive reform for sexual assault prevention and response within the Peace Corps.
Alexa Priddy, MA

Alexa is the Outreach Coordinator at the Colorado Coalition Against Sexual Assault and has 10 years of experience working to end sexual violence. Alexa has worked as a sexual violence victim advocate, educator, program coordinator and trainer on college campuses and in communities in Wisconsin, Oregon and Virginia. Alexa also has coordinated a statewide Sexual Assault Training Institute and provided technical assistance and support to first responders and members of the multidisciplinary response to survivors of sexual assault. Alexa completed her Master’s degree in Women’s Studies and is committed to addressing sexual violence in the diverse and underserved communities in our culture through collaborative approaches to sexual violence response and prevention.
2012 Board Meetings
CCASA Board Meetings are generally held the third Monday of every month at 6:00pm at Martin & Martin Engineering (12499 West Colfax Avenue, Lakewood, CO 80215). There are periodic exceptions, usually due to holidays on the regularly scheduled meeting dates. The Board of Directors will meet on the following dates in 2012:

Emily Tofte has been a member of CCASA’s Board of Directors since April 2009 and became the Chairperson in the Fall of 2009. Emily is the Program Manager at Moving to End Sexual Assault (MESA), the rape crisis center serving Boulder and Broomfield Counties, Colorado. Emily holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan and two Bachelor’s degrees (Psychology and Criminal Justice) from Indiana University. She is passionate about ending sexual and domestic violence and has been working in the field of domestic and sexual violence intervention and prevention since 2001. Prior to moving to Colorado in 2008, Emily was the Executive Director of the domestic violence shelter in Bozeman, Montana. Emily enjoys spending her free time volunteering, fly fishing, reading, camping, hiking, and doing yoga. Emily lives in Lakewood with her partner, Jared and their dog, Mika.

Amy Jackson has served on the Board of Directors since October 2008 and is the Executive Director of Advocates for Victims of Assault, Inc. in Summit County, Colorado. She holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Denver. Amy has been working in the sexual violence and domestic violence field for the past eight years. She joined the CCASA Board of Directors in 2008 and become the Vice Chair of the Board in 2010. Amy enjoys hiking, mountain biking, and spending time with her dog, Henry.

Katie Schmidt joined the Board of Directors in September 2010 and became the Treasurer in July 2011. Katie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a minor in Political Science from Valparaiso University in Indiana. She has been in the financial industry since 2007 with a majority of her time spent working as an officer for FirstBank. Katie has been an individual member of CCASA since June 2010 and joined the Board of Directors in September 2010. She is excited to put her financial expertise to use for CCASA. In addition, Katie has served on the Board of Directors for Domestic Violence Initiative (DVI) since November 2009 and is currently the Secretary. Katie enjoys spending time camping and running during the summer and loves to snowboard during the winter.

Shelley Schreiner joined the Board of Directors in July 2011 and has worked in the nonprofit sector for nearly 10 years in a variety of capacities, from direct service with domestic violence survivors to public policy for environmental organizations. Currently, Shelley is doing double duty, working with a political consulting firm, Mendez Consulting, and as the Event Coordinator for local nonprofit, Project Safeguard. She has a strong background working in issues surrounding domestic violence and sexual assault, both on a volunteer and professional basis. She is excited about working with CCASA as a board member because she believes strongly in taking a holistic approach to solving problems like sexual assault, and that providing resources and support to existing organizations is the most efficient and effective way to make a real difference. Shelley also brings her enthusiasm for fundraising to CCASA. In her spare time, she likes to cook, bike, and do yoga. Shelley lives in Denver with her husband, Matt, and her two dogs, Annie and Abby.
Member: Christine (Chris) Harms, School Outreach Consultant, Colorado School Safety Resource Center

Chris Harms joined the Board of Directors in July 2011 and is the school outreach consultant for the Colorado School Safety Resource Center providing training, technical assistance and consultation to schools across the state. A former teacher, private school administrator and psychotherapist, she has also served as the training coordinator for the Colorado Organization for Victim Assistance (COVA) as well as teaching victim studies at the University of Northern Colorado. Before moving to Colorado, Chris did school safety work and served for nine years as the education director for a non-profit organization committed to therapeutic services and prevention of child sexual abuse. She was also a contract therapist for Delaware County, Pennsylvania’s child protection agency working with victims of child sexual abuse and received their 2002 Victims’ Rights Week Award. Chris has an undergraduate degree from Muhlenberg College in psychology and education and a master’s degree in counseling and human relations from Villanova University.

Cathy Rodriguez joined the Board of Directors in July 2011 and is the Adult Standards and Community Notification Coordinator at the Office of Sex Offender Management in the Colorado Department of Public Safety’s Division of Criminal Justice. She has been working in the field of criminal justice for 16 years, and specifically in sex offender management for over 10 years. Cathy’s experience also includes her position as a Probation Officer in the 17th Judicial District and as a volunteer victim advocate with Northglenn and Thornton Police Departments. She has developed and delivered a variety of curriculum and training to different professionals across the state, including victim advocates, regarding sex offender management. Throughout her work in criminal justice and sex offender management, Cathy has worked from the belief and perspective that victims and community safety must be our first priority. Cathy has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Human Sexuality and she is enrolled in a Master’s program with a specialization in Psychology, Public Administration, and Social Change.
Member: Tiki Derrickson

Tiki Derrickson is the newest member of CCASA’s Board of Directors, joining in January 2012, although she previously served as the CCASA Board Chairperson from Spring 2009 until Fall 2009. She then served as an at-large member until February of 2010, when she had to leave the board due to illness. Tiki has worked as a victim advocate and program director in the field of sexual and domestic violence for approximately ten years. She holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree and is currently completing her Master’s degree in Human Services. One highlight of her career was forming two Sexual Assault Response Teams (SARTs) in her home state of Kentucky, for which she served as Chairperson. Tiki has also developed and facilitated sexual violence prevention trainings for law enforcement agencies and provided technical assistance to officers and family courts regarding sexual and domestic violence. She is very excited about being on CCASA’s Board of Directors once again. Tiki enjoys photography, reading, and knitting. She and her husband, Jeff, live in Colorado Springs with their two furry, four-legged children, Ollie and Matilda.
