About Us

Values and Philosophy

As many of you know, CCASA is undergoing some significant changes. We are in an exciting state of transition and are very much looking forward to taking the coalition forward. We are committed to providing you with resources, trainings, education and other benefits of membership that are new and beneficial. We appreciate your support and patience during this time and we look forward to serving you.

 

ORGANIZATIONAL PHILOSOPHY

To purposefully work from and for the perspectives of all persons impacted by sexual violence. CCASA's philosophy is achieved through identifying and respectfully embracing all types of communities by practicing active listening, understanding each community's unique needs and becoming involved; Actively and collaboratively working with all communities to eliminate sexual violence; developing and studying infromation and education on the intersections of oppression and sexual violence; and establishing a framework for addressing the perpetuation of casual reference, denial, avoidance and tolerance of sexual violence throughout society.

The Colorado Coalition Against Sexual Assault (CCASA) is devoted to transparently adhering to therese core values:

ETHICAL: Committed to operating within accepted principles of right and wrong; while exploring, developing, and implementing innovative professional standards for the organization, survivors, the state and the nation.

SURVIVOR FOCUSED: Devoted to keeping survivors needs paramount in all aspects of our organizational work.

COMMUNITY CONNECTED: Dedicated to collaborating and engaging multiple communitie input and resources to create and establish diverse, inclusive and relevant practices.

VIOLENCE AND OPPRESSION FREE: Devoted to allocating resources to the unconventional exploration and implementation of diverse, culturally relevant, inclusive policies and practices that stimulate and provoke community awareness.

DIVERSITY: Purposefully working to understand and committed to respect and accept that each and every individual is unique.

EMPOWERMENT: Determined to work with the community to sustant and enhance a core value of being survivor focused, community centeres, and vilence and oppression free.
