Freedom from Sexual Violence

CCASA Change Maker Dan Church

About Dan Church

Dan Church is a student, advocate, and therapist (in training). His experience in the fight against sexual assault includes community organizing and activism, crisis response, volunteer engagement, legal advocacy, and trauma-informed counseling. While finishing his Master’s Degree in Social Work at the Metropolitan State University of Denver, Dan looks forward to continuing his work to support survivors, engage men in the issue, and change how our communities view and handle sexual assault (and hopefully spend a little time with his wife and cat).

Dan’s involvement with CCASA began in 2012 by helping to plan Sexual Assault Awareness Month events. He currently is a blogger for the CCASA Blog and will be co-facilitating a CCASA webinar about accessing civil protection orders for sexual assault survivors in October.

Dan says, “CCASA is vital to changing the way our state addresses sexual violence and supports survivors. Their work gives local organizations necessary support and resources, while taking the lead on policy matters that impact survivors and service providers at all levels.”
