Colorado victim advocates concerned by DeVos’ desire to rescind college sex assault guidelines

“Simmons worried about stripping accommodations the Obama-era guidelines offered to survivors of sexual misconduct. Examples of these accommodations included navigating dorm switching so a potential sexual assault victim and the accused don’t have to live in the same space or rearranging class schedules so they don’t have to meet during the school day. ‘That mechanism may no longer exist for survivors to have those accommodations,’ Simmons said. ‘That could be a piece of it, but we don’t really know. But those are the types of things we’re looking out for.'”
