About the Candidate

Meet her October 30th

Judy Benitez is a dedicated advocate for survivors of sexual assault, domestic and dating violence, stalking, human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation. She has more than 25 years of experience in direct service, prevention, training, consulting, and policy planning in settings including a criminal justice agency, a community-based non-profit, and a federally recognized state sexual assault coalition. Recognized in 2007 by the National Sexual Violence Resource Center as a “founding sister of the anti-sexual assault movement,” Judy is skilled at recognizing intersectionality in crimes of violence against women and the threat thereof, and she values using a systems approach in all efforts to address the immediate and long-term effects of these crimes on survivors, their families, and communities.
