Nonconsensual Pornography: A Guide for Victim Advocates

This webinar will explore the latest research regarding nonconsensual pornography (otherwise known as “revenge porn”), and discuss manifestations of and potential remedies for nonconsensual pornography at the individual level, in communities, and within our culture.
Dr. Amber Morczek is an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice at Nevada State College. Dr. Morczek’s teaching and research interests include gender-based violence, pornography and sexual violence, and institutional corrections. Accordingly, her research has been published in the Journal of Interpersonal Violence, Family & Intimate Partner Violence Quarterly, the International Journal of Cyber Criminology, Sexuality & Culture, and the Sexual Assault Report. Dr. Morczek has also been asked to share her expertise with both students and professionals across the country. In addition to speaking at Syracuse University, Bard College, the University of Idaho, and Washington State University, she has delivered presentations to the following local, state, and federal agencies: Utah Coalition Against Sexual Assault, New York State Coalition Against Sexual Assault, Illinois Coalition Against Sexual Assault, Illinois Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Wisconsin Coalition Against Sexual Assault, Battered Women’s Justice Project, Washington State Department of Corrections, and most recently, the Rape Crisis Center in Las Vegas.
