Sexual Assault Tribal Advocate Institute: 40 Hour Training, provided by the National Tribal Advocate Center, a program of Red Wind Consulting, Inc.
Red Wind is pleased to announce the Sexual Assault Tribal Advocacy Institute providing 40 hours of training to build the critical framework for Tribal Sexual Assault Advocates to effectively and appropriately respond to sexual assault survivors in their communities.
This training will prepare tribal advocates for seeking sexual assault advocacy certification and is the only training of its kind that includes relevant information that addresses tribal and federal responses. Topics will include:
- Historical Context for Sexual Violence Against Native Women
- Overview of Sexual Assault Sexual Assault Advocacy
- Special Populations
- Challenging Issues
- Safety Planning with Sexual Assault Victims
- Federal Protections
- Tribal Sexual Assault Response
- Victim Rights and Remedies
- Tribal/Community Resources
- Compassion Fatigue and Self-Care
Registration Price: $640 — Includes 2 working lunches
