This year, Start by Believing Day will take place on Wednesday, April 6th, 2016.
Where do I Begin?
Ending Violence Against Women International has created several new resources to help you get started. Please visit the new Start by Believing Day webpage for ideas, tips and more. Here are a few examples of what you will find:
- Plan Your Event: This guide is a great place to get started, whether you have already launched a Start by Believing campaign in your community or not. It adds to the more general ideas and tools offered on the Start by Believing website.
- Social Media Toolkit: This toolkit is designed to help, whether you are a social media beginner, or a pro. You will learn how to use Twitter hashtags – and if you already use them, you’ll find out which ones to use on Start by Believing Day. You’ll also find suggested posts for Twitter and Facebook to make this as easy as possible for you to spread the word.
- Tips: They have prepared a quick reference sheet to help you find all the resources you are looking for, to make your event as successful as possible.
- CALCASA Media Toolkit: If you are considering involving the media in your efforts, this toolkit from CALCASA provides everything you need to know, from talking points to sample press releases. We strongly suggest you check it out.

Join the Movement
We hope you will join this global movement to support survivors of sexual violence. Whether you connect with others to combine efforts, or use your single voice to show commitment on social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook, we all play a role.
Together we can all help to create the world we want to live in – where survivors receive the compassion, support and justice they deserve.
