Freedom from Sexual Violence

Event: Student-Staff School Safety Summit

Student-Staff School Safety Summit

Middle and high school students and staff (at a ratio of six students per one staff per school) are invited to join us for this free virtual event. Speakers include Ersaleen Hope from the EPIC Resource Center in the Division of Criminal Justice, who will discuss how equity, diversity and inclusion make schools safer; and the FBI and a motivated Colorado student will address human trafficking, internet safety, and how youth can impact their communities. Breakout sessions presented by the CSSRC staff will address targeted violent and prevention strategies; mental health access and reporting; and healthy relationships at school, home, and in between. The highlight of the day will be a debrief with the students on programming that “works” in their schools, and ideas that they hear throughout the day that they believe they can implement in their communities to improve safety and climate.
