ICYMI – May

On May 20th, 2022, Governor Jared Polis signed Senate Bill 183, Crime Victims Services, into law. This bill ensures that Colorado service providers have the funding they need to support survivors. This funding allows programs, that sexual assault survivors desperately need, to keep their doors open and help to address the increased need created by the pandemic. We also thank Governor Polis for signing this bill into law, ensuring survivors statewide continue to have access to critical services.

CCASA is extremely proud of the advocacy we did, with partners around the state, to get Senate Bill 183 signed into law. This is just one way the CCASA was able to support our members as they continue to meet the increasing needs of survivors in every corner of our state.

The Colorado Advocacy in Action Conference is June 13-16th. But you can get a sneak peek of the conference NOW by checking out the CCASA Instagram page (@ccasacolorado).  We, along with Violence Free Colorado, hosted a conversation with Nick Beard on May 27th. During the CAIA conference, Nick will be teaching advocates about ways to support survivors around abortion information. On Instagram, we discussed what it means to be a part of a shifting movement. Be sure to check it out and register for the conference!
