Youth Services Manager

Youth Services Manager reports directly to the Victim Services Director and is responsible for KBFLC’s youth program Supervising the overall functions of the youth programs, ensuring quality control and appropriateness of the program, coordinating special projects, and preparing applicable reports. May also assist in the development of the program.

ABOUT THE POSITION: The Youth Services Manager provides oversight and coordinates programming for the assigned program. Programing will directly address participant issues and provide case management and provide leadership support to the case management team. The manager will work with the Victim Services Director to facilitate the development and expansion of services through engaging with the community and building networks. Time is divided between developing community collaboration, program administration, and case management. All responsibilities are conducted consistent with the Kingdom Builder’s Family Life Center’s mission and philosophy of care.

Program Coordination

Assure the maintenance of logs, track intake and exit data, grant program reports, invoices, and statistical data, and maintain client rosters.
Document procedures for individual contracts, including charting, exits, and preparation for annual audits.
Liaise and Communicate with partnered support services.
Coordinate daily operations of youth programming for guests including program services, social activities, and case management services.
Maintain a caseload of all youth guests enrolled.
Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual statistics as required by funders and the agency.
Train and ensure the enforcement of program policies and agency rules.
Work in conjunction with other KBFLC’s programs to support agency mission.
Know and understand the contracts and ensure compliance with contracts is being met.

General Job Duties:

Complete intakes, assessments, service plans, & progression of services needed/received for youth guest & their parents.
Provide quality services to youth program guests, including but not limited to individual counseling, group counseling, & safety planning.
Maintain confidentiality of all client information
Provide age-appropriate orientation to child participant; assist parent & child to normalize routines and activities.
Assist parents in learning & applying effective discipline techniques
Offer education to youth on an individual & group basis on various topics
Facilitate weekly meetings for youth (as applicable)
Network with other agencies to provide assistance
Complete service logs & all necessary paperwork to document hours of service, training, etc. & submit to designated staff on a weekly basis (minimum)
Maintain youth’s files and complete monthly (minimum) reviews
Participate in the quarterly file reviews as part of the quality assurance plan
Complete monthly narratives with client success stories for grant reports
Administer measurable outcome tools for grant evaluation requirements
Create and update a youth services manual (as needed)
Serve as the liaison for local schools & youth organizations
Facilitate applicable sessions of the 40-hour training curriculum
Participate in applicable internal & external meetings
Assist with public awareness activities & provide presentations as requested
Any other duties assigned and deemed necessary for the effective and efficient operation of the agency when it pertains to the diversion program.

Participation in Service Delivery

Provide supportive crisis counseling and case management services to youth program participants as needed with clearly documented client case notes.
In support of the program, work with Victim Services Director and staff to help facilitate program improvements and developments including staffing decisions, and auxiliary services.
Build and maintain a network of community providers and services to address resident needs, serving as liaison with referring agencies.
Provide and model de-escalation and crisis intervention, developing a supportive milieu. Act as a model for front-line staff.
Participate in ongoing training and program development.

Carry out supervisory duties in accordance with the agency policies and applicable laws. Directly supervise Program Advocates. Participate in the hiring of new staff; Monitor performance; Develop a system for motivating and evaluating staff to help them achieve their individual goals and collectively achieve the programs and the agency’s mission and establish and maintain a working environment conducive to positive morale, provide recognition to staff; provide coach/counseling and discipline, when necessary; Address complaints and resolve problems. A member of the program management team may need to serve as the program representative in the absence of the Victim Services Director.


Competency in harm reduction, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed care as well as counseling, advocacy, and referral services.
Demonstrated competency in organizing and leading teams as well as coordinating, supervising, and directing the work of others.
Demonstrated ability to maintain a caseload, provide case management, crisis counseling, advocacy, and referral services to clients.
Excellent boundaries, de-escalation, and crisis intervention skills.
Ability to set and maintain boundaries in a professional manner.
Ability to motivate, enthuse, inform, and develop others to improve capability levels within the team.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and crisis situations.

Demonstrated knowledge of local resources and services for individuals who are low-income and homeless, as well as the ability to develop a network of providers to serve the needs of agency clients.

Valid CO driver’s license, proof of car insurance, and a driving record that meets KBFLC’s standards, required.


Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field preferred. Master’s degree a plus. Or relevant service and management work experience, certificate and/or equivalent continuing professional development or education.
A minimum of 1-years’ experience in a human/social service setting with a focus on youth services, homelessness, supportive housing, mental illness, substance abuse, employment, or domestic violence, strongly desired.
A minimum of 1 year’s experience in direct supervision/management of people, desired.
Experience in outreach, or case management for underserved families.
Familiarity with issues of homelessness, mental illness, substance abuse, domestic violence and/or sexual assault, required.
Awareness and/or training around issues of equity, intersectionality, and belonging.

Work takes place in an office environment where long periods of sitting, working on a computer, walking to various work areas, going up and down stairs, and standing are required.
Travel to program sites and meetings outside the office and around the county are necessary.
Mental efforts like attention to detail, interacting with others in-person and through email, using critical thinking skills to strategize, develop and implement business plans, create, and edit documents, listen, and participate verbally at meetings.

The noise level in the work environment is normal. KBFLC’s programs are housed within the SE part of Colorado Springs. Our diverse client/guest/resident community includes many single, formerly homeless adults who lack any family support system. Compounding the constraints of poverty, our community includes individuals who are physically and/or mentally disabled, persons living with AIDS, those who struggle with chemical dependencies, veterans, and vulnerable, elderly adults. Working at KBFLC will mean that you will be in close proximity to the people we serve.
KBFLC’s facilities are monitored with camera surveillance equipment for safety and security purposes. The cameras will generally be utilized only in public areas where there is not a reasonable expectation of privacy.
