Sexual Assault Advocate Training Institute

— Meet Requirements

SAATI

CCASA’s Sexual Assault Advocate Training Institute (SAATI) provides training hours necessary to meet statutory requirements for advocate privilege. SAATI is designed for staff at community- and campus-based sexual and domestic violence advocacy programs. It is also appropriate for staff at law enforcement and district attorney’s victim assistance programs.

SAATI will increase participants’ knowledge and skills to support survivors of sexual assault as well as provide participants with information and tools to bring back to their agency to train other staff and volunteers.

SAATI covers core topics, including:

Sexual assault dynamics and effects

Culturally responsive crisis intervention and advocacy

Medical options

Criminal justice options

Civil legal options

*We recommend the remaining 4 hours include agency- and community-specific information, such as agency policies and procedures, community resources, coordinated community response, etc.

Two ways to complete SAATI

CCASA provides two ways to complete SAATI: Synchronously with a group of advocates from around the state and at your own pace!

Synchronous SAATI

Join advocates from around the state in September for a community learning experience! Meet regularly to learn from CCASA Staff and community partners, engage in the opportunity to share your knowledge, and ask questions!

This option provides 26 of the 30 training hours necessary to meet statutory requirements for advocate privilege. We recommend the remaining 4 hours include agency- and community-specific information, such as agency policies and procedures, community resources, coordinated community response, etc.

Priority will be given to CCASA member agencies and the first person who registers. Everyone else will be placed on a waitlist. If more than one person from your agency would like to attend, please discuss with your team to see who you would like to be given priority.

CCASA has launched a self-paced Online SAATI! Similar to our Online Learning Center, you can now participate and learn at your own pace as your schedule allows. Get the same information as in person, engage in similar activities, and receive a 30-hour certificate from the comfort of your own office.
