Organization: VINE (Victim Information and Notification Everyday)
16/10/2015
Presented by:
Shannon Villanueva

VINE (Victim Information and Notification Everyday) is a nationally recognized victim notification system, which is currently in 47 states. Since the Colorado Constitutional Amendment for Victim Rights requires victim notification, this system has been implemented throughout most Colorado Jails. Explanations will be provided on how victims, advocates, and the public can register for easy victim notification. Learn of the importance of this program and why YOU need to understand how VINE works so you can pass this along to victims. A demonstration of how to register for VINE will be included. There will also be a presentation on VINEWatch, which is the protected side of VINE, that gives law enforcement and victim advocates access to near real-time data that can be used to generate reports and notifications, track usage, register victims, and verify the timeliness of a notification. This class is a valuable tool for Victim Advocates, Law Enforcement, Victim Service Coordinators, Jail Administrators and DA Offices.
