Serving Native Sexual Assault Survivors
Native Americans experience the highest rates of domestic violence and sexual assault in the nation and Colorado has over 80,000 Native Americans living with in its state boundaries. Native Americans remain an invisible population as many Colorado programs do not identify they are working with this population nor have staff had any specific training on how to conduct outreach and work with this population. This webinar will help participant’s develop an understanding of the Native American population in Colorado while assisting participants with developing an understanding of working with Native survivors of sexual assault and strategies for building their programmatic capacity to more adequately serve Native American survivors of sexual assault in Colorado.
