Weaving It All Together: Collaboration, Community, and Science in the Prevention of Sexual Assault
Sexual assault has become a spotlight issue for universities and in the media, thanks in large part to the work of dedicated activists. The need for prevention and education programming is evident, and implementing programs that are evidence and promising practice based can be a challenge. How do you balance responsiveness to community needs, fidelity to curriculum, adherence to scientifically-supported approaches, all while navigating the barriers institutions face in integrating sexual violence prevention into their already over-booked schedules? This webinar will discuss the challenges, successes and lessons learned from The Blue Bench, metro Denver’s only comprehensive sexual assault prevention and care center. We will consider how to build scalable, sustainable and data-driven prevention programs that support a community-based approach to sexual violence prevention.
