Shannon Collins (she/her) is a lifelong learner and advocate who is passionate about empowering survivors of sexual violence, creating accessible spaces for healing, and centering anti-oppressive values in our practice. Shannon is a licensed clinical social worker with over 20 years of experience working to end sexual and power-based violence through advocacy, response, prevention, and education, primarily in college and university settings. Prior to moving to Colorado, Shannon worked on campuses in Columbia, SC, Washington, DC, Chicago, IL, and St Petersburg, FL.

In her current professional role, Shannon serves as the Director of Campus Training and Technical Assistance at the National Organization for Victim Assistance (NOVA).  Shannon also serves as adjunct faculty and course coordinator for the University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work, and teaches courses and workshops on evidence-based practice, ethics of campus advocacy, feminist advocacy for social change, and gender-based violence over the lifespan. Shannon holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology, a Master of Social Work degree, and a Women’s Studies Certificate of Graduate Study from the University of South Carolina, as well as an Executive Certificate of Nonprofit Management from the Georgetown University Public Policy Institute.

When Shannon is not working to promote justice and healing for survivors, she can be found quietly crafting or appreciating the Colorado landscape with her family.
