General Description:

Rocky Mountain Victim Law Center (RMvlc) elevates victims’ voices, champions victims’ rights, and transforms the systems impacting them.

RMvlc is seeking an Intake Specialist. The Intake Specialist is the first point of contact for those reaching out to RMvlc seeking support and services. The Intake Specialist will be responsible for conducting intakes, providing information and referrals, and presenting cases to RMvlc’s team of victim services specialists and staff attorneys.

Candidates must as also be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals, groups, and organizations.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

Conduct initial needs assessments and intakes with victims and service providers.

Conduct initial intakes for technical assistance requests from community partners and allied professionals.

Provide legal and community referrals and information.

Manage the intake voicemail, inbox, and intake calendar as needed.

Present intakes during case review and assist with case selection process.

Support victims and survivors in addressing their legal needs related to victimization.

Work with other RMvlc staff members and clients to determine and meet needs to enforce victim rights.

Maintain required case files and documentation for clients.

Complete surveys with clients per RMvlc policies and procedures.

Compile reports for case closures to maintain RMvlc’s client services database.

Actively participate in team case review meetings.

Assist in gathering data for grant and program reports.

Assist with scheduling follow up meetings with victims as needed.

Provide administrative support appropriate to the role and duties of the position.

Other duties as necessary.

Accountability: The Intake Specialist reports to the Executive Director.

Qualifications:

Bilingual Spanish-speaking, strongly preferred.

Prior experience working with crime victims preferred.

Demonstrated high level of diplomacy, sound judgment, strong boundaries, and discretion when dealing with clients and other community professionals.

Experience with, and commitment to, grappling with the complexities of societal power and privilege in order to understand how multiple forms of oppression (racism, classism, heterosexism, ableism, etc.) intersect with RMvlc’s work.

Demonstrated experience in customer service.

Demonstrated understanding of victim issues and a passion for RMvlc’s mission.

Strong verbal skills and high level of empathy.

Exceptional time-management and the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks.

Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize projects.

Computer literacy including, but not limited to Microsoft Office products and demonstrated success in learning new technology.

Conflict management skills.

Proven history of taking initiative, being self-motivated, a high-level of attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks.

Hiring Range: $40,000 – $50,000 annually
