Originally from New Mexico, Shelby moved to Colorado in 2014 and is working towards degrees in both Social Work and Criminal Justice and Criminology. Shelby currently works as the 3rd Judicial Sexual Assault Response Coordinator, Transitional Housing Coordinator, and victim advocate for Advocates Against Domestic Assault in Trinidad, CO. Since her start in 2019, Shelby has dedicated her career to engaging in systems advocacy and focusing on coordinated responses to both sexual assault and domestic violence. She also spends time working with her local college, different homeless coalitions, youth athletics, and is very involved in her community. In her spare time, Shelby can be found spending time with her family, reading, or playing volleyball.
