The Violence and Injury Prevention – Mental Health Promotion (VIP-MHP) Branch exists to coordinate state and local efforts toward mental health promotion, substance abuse prevention, and the prevention of death and disability in Colorado due to unintentional and intentional injuries through health policy, legislation, public awareness and education, training, assessments, and intervention programs.

This position upports the implementation of the Sexual Violence Prevention (SVP) Program by overseeing contracts of grantees, providing technical assistance and supports sexual violence prevention partners across the state, and building relationships with internal and external stakeholders and community experts. Responsible for aligning efforts and strategic goals for the Sexual Violence Prevention Program to support more coordinated and consistent violence prevention efforts. Collaborates with other VIP-MHP Branch programs as needed to further the goals of the branch.

Serves as the staff authority for sexual violence prevention by directly influencing management decisions regarding the programmatic and policy direction related to sexual violence. Serves as the primary point of contact for any sexual violence prevention decisions and inquiries. Responsible for building and maintaining relationships at community, state, and federal levels in order to support implementation and evaluation of the program’s missions.
